Belladonna: so named after the deadly nightshade family of plants that includes tomatoes and potatoes. Both of which originated from Central and South America, this piece explores the potency of minor keys with a dash of Baden Powell's legacy, the Afro-samba.
Written originally on 7-string Gtr, Belladonna takes the form of choro-canção, lyrical and brooding, exploiting the low 7th string C.
To render this atmosphere on 6-string Gtr I've looked to voice chords in the lower register, some of which are seldom used, although some can be found in the compositions of Guinga. DdV
